Below please find our most commonly asked frequently asked questions.

REGISTRATION:  Open from May 1st through June 1st on a first come, first served basis as the overall number of players is limited. Registration will close BEFORE JUNE 1st if necessary and waiting lists will be initiated.

PLAYING SEASON:  June 12th, 2023 through July 20th, 2023.
Games for 5th - 9th grade division will be played on weekday evenings with varied start times between 6:00pm and 9pm. Games will be played on outdoor courts in Chester and last about 1 hour.
Last week in July for Playoff games. All Star & Championship games for all divisions will be played the week of July 17th.

DIVISIONS OF PLAY:  Teams will be made with the players grouped as follows:  Boys 5/6th grades, Boys 7/8th grades, Boys 9th grade, Girls 5/6th grades and Girls 7/8/9th grades.  All of these divisions will have  teams that play supervised games with referees.  Standings will be tallied and the season will end with a week of playoffs and All Star Games.

ELIGIBILITY: CSB is open to all area youth entering grades 5th through 9th in the upcoming fall; regardless of experience and skill level.  Our 5th thru 9th Grade division teams are usually made up of youth from towns including Chester, Mendham, Long Valley, Randolph, Roxbury, Morristown, Mount Olive, Hackettstown, Succasunna, and other nearby towns.

LEAGUE OUTLOOK: The goal of the CSB League is to provide area youth with the chance to play good old "Pick Up Ball" yet in a supervised environment.  We want to allow the players to play their own game; try plays and moves that a coach may not allow  during a regular season. We want the players to interact and learn how to play fairly on their own. There is NO COACHING in the CSB League.  Local High School players are compensated to referee the games with the instruction to NOT call every infraction.  The idea is to let the kids PLAY as much as possible and not make every call on the court (just like in Pick Up Ball!).  These ideals have proven successful so far.  It is wonderfully rewarding to see our youth play with and become friends with those that would otherwise be opponents during the school year.

CAN MY CHILD BE ON HIS/HER FRIEND'S TEAM?  CSB recognizes we have players from other towns and we try to put at least two players from a town on a team together.  If possible, we will try to accommodate car pool requests.  We ask that all parents and players please understand CSB also strives to create fairly level playing teams within divisions and work around known absences of players; sometimes the effort to do this is in direct conflict with car pool requests.  We can not accommodate all requests but we do our best!

CAN MY TRAVEL TEAM PLAY IN THIS LEAGUE?  CSB welcomes your travel team players to register individually and participate on the various teams the players will be placed on - we do not allow pre-existing teams to play together in this league.

COMMUNICATIONS:   The CSB website will be updated continuously throughout our playing season.  Emails and text messages will be sent, if you selected to have them sent during registration, to remind you of upcoming games and be alerted of game changes due to weather issues. Each division has one or more coordinators whose names and email addresses are on our CONTACTS page.

COST: only $125 per player and includes a team shirt. The online registration includes secured credit/debit card payment using your Visa, MasterCard or Discovery Card.

DIRECTIONS TO COURTS:  See "Courts & Directions" on left menu  - click on court name for directions to that court location.
