  • Team Rosters and Schedules Are Set! Check Them Out!
Chester Summer Basketball 2022 Season

Welcome to Chester Summer Basketball!

The teams/rosters and schedules are posted. Check them out at www.chestersummerbasketball.org. You should have been automatically notified what team you are on. Now go to “Teams” to find out who your teammates are!

Games will begin Tuesday, June 21st and continue through Thursday July 21st. Remember that all teams will not be playing on the first night. On your first night of play please arrive 30 minutes early to check in and get your team shirt. No problem if you can't make it the first night, coordinators will have team shirts with them every night. All info, including league rules, is available on the website. But if you have any questions, contact one of your division coordinators. All division coordinators are listed on the ‘Contacts’ page.

**Please note that due to the two Monday holidays this year, the teams that play on Mondays and Wednesdays will have a couple of nights when they have two games scheduled. We had to do this so that every team gets eight regular season games.

If you haven't already, make sure you go into your account and choose to receive text notifications. There are often last minute game cancellations and schedule changes due to weather.

No coaches, no practices, just games! No need to alert anyone if you won’t be at a game.

PLEASE READ: The Essence of Chester Summer Basketball

Chester Summer Basketball was created to be playground/pickup basketball in a controlled environment. And like pickup games, the games are meant to be played without coaches and without coaching from parents and spectators. It is a league basically run by the youth, with adult coordinators present only as facilitators.

The referees are young kids, high-schoolers who have come through the program. They are not trained referees. They have been through a clinic and given some instruction but, they are not professional referees and are not expected to be. The refs are there simply to keep things under control and to give a little structure to the games. In trying to keep the pickup game feel, the refs have been instructed not to make every foul call and traveling violation or whateverParents and players are not allowed to question any calls made by the refs. These high school refs certainly don't deserve to be intimidated or heckled by parents. Instead, voice any concerns to any of the adult coordinators present.

The program as it is, is a great program that has grown from 40 to over 400 kids. The popularity of the program can be attributed to the fact that parents and players love the competitive yet laid back atmosphere. So come out and support your players and teams. Remember that the car ride home is a great place to offer advice to your player. NOT while they are playing. Remember, No coaching!

CSB is not for profit and everyone involved is a volunteer except for the high school referees. Thanks to your support, CSB is able to make significant donations to the schools and recreational facilities of Chester.

We love the fact that all of you have chosen to participate and hope you enjoy the Chester Summer Basketball experience.
